The pulsation dampener is used in cases of unstable pneumatic signal in the sensing line. This accessory helps smooth out abnormal pulsations or spikes and improve regulator performance.

It is often installed when it is not possible to comply with the distance between the regulator and the sensing line connection recommended by the manufacturer or when the downstream line size (diameter) is too small, generating excessive turbulence due to high velocity.

This accessory helps to minimize pilot’s contamination from gas dirt and is suitable for natural gas and all non-aggressive gases applications.

Oil and Gas plants are complex entities. Handling all the aspects involved in treatment, processing, regulation and measurement of fossil fuels is a matter of knowledge that spans through dozens of different fields. Chemical, mechanical, electronic and electrical engineering are just some of the subjects involved in these massive projects.
The Human Resources Department of Pietro Fiorentini has gathered all the required professionals that cover these topics, and thanks to both decades of experience and adaptive management frameworks they can find a solution for the most demanding undertaking.
Modularization is considered the key factor for the successful implementation of those projects where the significant reduction of the site construction period is required or where the remote location does not allow to easily hire qualified personnel on-site. Modularization works are executed in a yard conveniently located nearby a harbour to ease transportation activities. The modules are usually supplied complete of steel structures, equipment, piping, instrumentation, electrical tracing, lighting and grounding materials, thermal insulation and painting. Cabling and cable trays are included within module’s battery limits. Hydraulic test and pre-commissioning activities will also be carried out at shop before modules delivery.

Front end engineering design (FEED) is an engineering design framework used for an in-depth check of a project cost. The main target of this approach is to analyse project requirements, fix a design basis, freeze the process design and involve all main subvendors. Natural gas is usually highly pressurized as it flows through transmission pipelines, but once it reaches the consumers, it needs to be brought up to the contractual specifications for delivery. This often means that in high pressure stations solids and liquids have to be filtered out, the pressure has to be reduced, and the gas may need to be preheated to compensate the cooling effect of the pressure reduction (Joule-Thomson effect). Moreover, the downstream consumers need to be protected for over-pressurization from the transmission line.
An accurate pressure control is the main contributor to the smooth flow of gas into transmission lines. The wide range of models allows to choose always the most suitable product for each application, because 80 years of experience in the field tell us that not all applications have the same maintenance and silent operations.

Gas metering stations are located along gas distribution and transmission networks. These stations allow pipeline operators and local distribution companies to monitor, manage, and account for the natural gas flowing through the network.
The main scope of a gas metering station is to measure the flow of gas, allowing distribution companies to manage the network and gas sellers to allocate and bill the consumption.
The flow rate through a station can be measured by means of different devices such as rotary, turbine and ultrasonic meters and orifice fittings. They record the flow rate in actual cubic meters and a volume converter calculates the equivalent compendated for pressure, temperature and density.

Some of the most common applications include:

  • gas dew point heating to prevent condensation phenomena due to the Joule-Thomson effect;
  • heating of high-pressure natural gas pressure regulation or fuel gas super-heating for upstream gas turbines, to prevent external icing formation;
  • gas heating for downstream low temperature storages;
  • viscosity reduction, to facilitate degassing and dewatering of crude oil heating upstream treatments.
